Born and raised in Toronto, Gerrit graduated from Ryerson University and received a degree in Marketing. The Zwaal name is synonymous with an insurance professional, Gerrit decided to follow his father’s footsteps and started his insurance career in 1985 when he joined Allstate Insurance Company of Canada. While at Allstate Gerrit held many management positions which included Sales Training Manager, Underwriting Manager and Sales Manager. Gerrit earned the distinction of the Key Manager award which recognised him for strong sales leadership. In 2008, Gerrit realized his professional dream of being an owner of an insurance brokerage as part of the group which acquired Ivan C. Day Insurance Brokers Ltd. As President, his accountabilities include, performing the duties of Principal Broker, Human Resources, Market Relations and the mentoring of new brokers. His community involvement includes volunteer work for The United Way and Ability online. In his spare time, Gerrit enjoys spending time at the cottage as he is a avid in water sports and snowmobiling enthusiast. Most of all he loves just spending time with 3 wonderful children Gerrit Jr., Spencer and Zaylen.

Born in Trapani Italy, Joe immigrated to Canada as a young child where he was raised in Toronto. Joe started his career as a Bell Canada Central office Technician and Analyst, working in several offices in Ontario. However, it did not take long for Joe to realise his true passion as an insurance professional. Joe began his insurance career with Allstate Insurance in 1992 where he built one of Canada’s most successful agencies in Maple Ontario. As an insurance agent Joe earned many distinctions, including the recipient of the Distinguished Agency Award 3 times which recognized him for being among the top 5% of all Canadian Agents. He was also recognised as National Champion on numerous occasions. Joe became and Insurance Broker in 2008 as part of the group which acquired Ivan C. Day Insurance Brokers Ltd. As an ICD Vice President, Joe is responsible for the firms technology and the mentoring of new brokers. After hours, Joe enjoys being surrounded by his loving family including his wife Claudine and daughter Victoria.

His entrepreneurial spirit became evident right out of university where he acquired his first company in the automotive industry. In 1998 he realised his that helping families protect their most valuable assets was his true passion, so he sold his business to join Allstate Insurance Company of Canada as an insurance agent. Trent opened his Insurance Agency in 2000 and built a successful office in Newmarket, Ontario. As an insurance agent, Trent earned the many distinctions including Top Growth Award, National Champion and was the recipient of the Distinguished Agency Award on numerous occasions which recognized him for being among the top 5% of all Canadian Agents.
